I think most of us respect that position even if we disagree with the bow hunting issue and that is why I had assumed there was an external link to the photograph.

I think this oft-repeated argument that 'some people don't know where meat comes from' is both facile and insulting, and if the person saying it truly believes it their brain must be on standby.

does not fall in line with a documentary I saw earlier in the year where they were asking children where the meat in the beefburgers they were eating came from. Unfortunately the majority thought it came from a factory and didn't realise it came from a cow. Now it could be argued that the program had been edited to highlight this ..... I don't know, but I do know that some of my sons friends in the 11 - 13yr range do not know how the meat in their food is sourced and processed.
My main objection to the thread itself was that a guy based in the USA came to our forum to share the news that his stepson was recovering from this horrible condition and was jumped on and told that 'Hunting is Offensive' etc etc....
Thunk and NoobArcher you are in the fortunate position of being able to pop into Tesco's and buy your beef or venison. I actually agree with you NoobArcher on the battery farming aspect, I find it just as offensive as you do. However in parts of the World, including rural parts of the USA hunting is done for food and not for pleasure. Thunk your comment

That is quite different to animals killed by hunting - in the affluent West the only reason for hunting is for the pleasure of the hunter and the maintainance of his ego.

shows that you are only considering the minority of n0b heads who do shoot for pleasure - especially big game, tethered or sedated...... again I would support your position on this.
Regarding the 'family' aspect. I think members of this site need to respect the fact that hunting is illegal in this Country and should not be promoted. However I think there are a lot worse things easily accesible on the Internet which we should protect our children from.
