the whole gang (from left to right - wendy / paul / pete / zoe / trevor / rod / rod junior (oliver ? ) / phil / sarah (just visible) / craig / me (extreme bottom right due to elementary photography error - but at least its not like i teach the subject or anything ! )

Yes, we had a brilliant, if windy day. It was my fault though, every time I go down to Friskney we get gale force winds ! Sarah was having to aim at the flag on top of the bale to get 30 yds. With such light arrows going so slow she was getting blown off course a lot. But she still stuck it out. Mike and I got the draw length down on her bow, but 16lbs peak @ 23" lacks punch. She needs that Browning really badly.

Wendy was phenomenal as usual. Mike Houghton and I both agree that she is one of the top archers in the UK, male or female, to emerge for many years. If she does not get called to shoot for the GNAS GB team at world and European level in the next year or so, then I will regard my criticisms of the GNAS hierarchy validated.

We hope Daniel recovers from his chest infection soon. It was the one downer on Sarah's day !!! It would have been good to see him shooting. He is another Friskney archer I would put money on to reach high levels in the future. Not only due to innate skill, but his attitude. I've seen many potential champions. I've also seen many fail to achieve their potential by poor attitude.

Great to see Malcolm and Janet arrive to see us all at the end.

Strange day for me. The ignition light has been on, on the car for a week, and the battery has been draining. I went down to Friskney on a battery charge. On the way home, the fault rectified itself, and started charging the battery. Had a sore left eye too. I made a couple of lengths of d-loop last night. I melted the mushroom on the end of some braid and somehow caught it, and it flicked a bit of hot melted plastic in my eye.

Thanks to the Friskney mob for organising another great days shooting.

Interesting that in all of the photographs, only English Archer's face is clearly visible. Is this by design to protect the innocent?

I shot FOBS which certainly worked well for me in the wind. You could see them travelling down to the target and were not affected by the wind as much as standard fletches. A great day to try them out

We all had a good day unfortunately the quite high winds didn't help. The irony been Sunday was as calm as a summers day, how's that for Sods law!

PS. I'm the one with my camo hunting gear on! (if your interersted that is?) Probably not!

Malcolm should have been the field captain but unfortunately had to be taken to hospital the day before. So it was nice to see him come along at the end. Paul stood in as Field captain but needs a louder whistle

Thanks to everyone who brought some food along

You could see Sarah was disappointed that Daniel wasn't there.
