Interesting video

YouTube - Archery World Champs - Archive 1965 - Vasteras - Magazine

World champs from 1965 - some of the form is pretty much like it is today... some of it is awful ... and some of it plain odd (ref: the lady shooting at 4:48) - very funny

Some of the stances are quite interesting, to say the least!

veyr good find murray and quite interesting.

the lady at 4.48 like you say is quite odd.

also does on of the bows being inspected have a tec bar (bit about advanced american bows)??

the lady shooting on 2.30 seems to have a technique very similar to the modern ones, whereas some of the mens high shoulders look crazy..

Note the target faces have white lines between the blue and the black? Why and when did it change to a "black" line? It would make far more sense to re-introduce this line onto FITA targets for today.

I don't think I'd like shooting in a skirt on a windy day.

Oh that is so dead brilliant - the wonders of the internet yet again allow such historical gems to be shared with the world. To think I hadn't started school when that event took place.
