| I want one. Interesting, but I can see why it never caught on, where do you bolt the stabilisers on!? ![]() Wouldn't mind giving one a go though. Every time I've seen one of these spear throwing type weapons, reference has been made to how accurate they were, but never with any actually data. So just how accurate were they in terms that an archer can understand? Does anyone know?

| Throwing arrows Not very, we used to make something similar when we were kids and use them a bit like Clout shooting where we would peg a big piece of paper at one end of the playing field and lob them towards it in an arc from the other end. Instead of the stick launcher we used a piece of string with a knot at the end wrapped 'round a small groove just under the flights with the string folded over the knot. Even at that age we realised that the more weight you put at the pile end the more accurate they were and the better they flew, only not as far as ones with lighter piles. Even then there was "arrow snobbery" with the "Jazz" equivalents being made out of garden canes and the "X10" equivalents out of green pea sticks. Interestingly the "garden canes" used to break into splinters if they hit a stone or something and, unconcerned, we left them in the playing field where they lay .... |
