| There is something about taking pictures and child protection. I vaguely remember something about parental permission being sought. It could be that this issue is taken care of by the signing in process; maybe the parents agree on the same sort of form/register.That would seem unlikely as there could still be minors at the venue whose parents had refused permission. What a state to be in!!!!! If a child falls over in a playground, you need to be very careful or brave or foolish if you lend a hand. If things go wrong..... look out! |

| I love photography, but only from behind the camera. I've discovered that I'm the only one who can take a decent photo of myself, so if anyone else tries, they'll regret it. ![]()

| From shoots I've attended if you wish to take photographs, you sign in (doesn't cost anything) and the judges usually let everyone know that there will be people taking pictures. I guess it's then up to you to speak to the photographer and let them know you don't want any pictures of taken of yourself. I think that registering at the beginning just covers the organisers backs, not sure that it's anything more than that. So if you have a junior shooting, and you ask the person taking pictures not to photograph them, but a picture of the junior then turns up in an archery magazine, then you can contact the shoots organisers and you have a point of contact for the person who took the picture should you wish to take some sort of action. All seems a bit pointless to me given how concealable cameras are these days, but everybody loves their rules and regs........right ? |

| Yeah i'm affraid our youth group has implimented policies regarding camera's We have a week long holiday with 80 or so kids to the south coast. There all members of either the church youth groups or the boy's/girl's brigade at the three churches that partake. BUT we cannot use any pictures of the activities we do without express permission of the parents. We have a group photo of all the staff and kids together done and we have to monitor closely who's ordered copies and what the photographer does with the negatives etc its a pain in the bum but its the way the world is i'm afraid. The fact is we have several very good photographers on the staff and we have given to parents some really nice shots of the kids doing activities/laughing and joking/dressing up for silly games/or just chilling out with staff. However we cannot use any of these pictures in publications etc with permission. Anyone interested in child saftey look up "safe to grow policy" used by youth groups countrywide as a guide to staff and child procedures behaviour etc. Your local boys brigade or scout group will furnish you with a copy I should think.

| Hi Simon! say hi to Charlie for me. We are like this with foster children for obvious reasons, can't post names or post pics on the net. Sign of the times unfortunately. ![]()
