Point well made Tark. A DM with imagination brings out imagination in the party, makes you think about your characters skills and abilities.

I particularly liked the annoying giant (we were trying to be inconspicuous in an enemy hoarde camp... don't ask...) and this giant blundered through us... illusionist conjoured up a ballista and the giant was dumb enough to believe it was real not illusion........

And a wand of wonder was always good for a laugh.....

No, I think ffish is being mischievous. (Surely not?)

I think the US culture is very different, and there's a similarity with biking... In the US it's all hotpants and boobies for rubies for the girls. Over here female bikers are just that, girls on bikes (as I found out to my cost when I wore my hotpants to an MAG meeting,,, lol).

And you know those girls on AT? Don't tell them I said so, but I think some of them have been surgically enhanced!
