actually only the face mask is made of metal from what i remember.

i played for the uni team for while before coming back to this sport. i'd imagine the lighting may have more to do with the goal posts than the kit as they are quite tall.

and regular football is usually only called off due to waterlogged pitches not just rain (this can be caused by snow etc too)

even if it's only the facemask, would you wanna have one in front of your face during a storm?

because its a small amount of metal compared to waving a riser + (sometimes) ally stabilisers around a similar setting....

that doesn't really make sense to the question I asked but nevermind...

I can see the point your making and I'm not disagreeing, I was once caught in a lightning storm with an armful of allys and I wasn't exactly calm.

nice photo's

I used to compete with my dog - see, even rewording it gives rise to more statements!!!

I'll stop now, think you get the message!

You clearly have never played Golf! Only time they call off a golf match is if there is lightning about. Rather like archery it would be stupid to stand there in the open with a lightning conductor in your hand! I have even played golf in the snow with - now this is tempting a whole host of salacious comments - red balls!
What about Croquet or Bowls? Do they play on? Not sure.

Nope. But I've never seen it broadcast on TV with any weather about, other than wind. So I assumed.
Golf might actually be a bit of fun. It would have to be less expensive for me to try it though.
