Any other sport they would have gone home...

So why do we stay out in the rain?

Some pics from Sundays P&S Club Champs (apologies for the size but the rain looks better and wetter when big....)

Beg to differ over the 'any other sport' - those of us who sail usually don't get the option of going home when the heavens open as we're usually too far offshore!

As Chay Blythe puts it - "it's only wind and water!"

Nice photos!

I can only think of three sports that are called off when it rains - cricket, tennis and golf. Everything else is either indoors or they just play on. Could you imagine footballers stopping play because it started raining? (Actually... I can!)

What limited sailing I've done in the past I've always seemed to be wet by the time I was 100yrds away from land no matter what the weather

Yeah, he's getting a bit past it for recurve

He was saying something about his release aid the other day, something about it being the only one he could use becuase it was rather like shooting his recurve!

called off for rain

American Football is played in all weather (rain, wind, snow) except lightning storms. Why, you may ask, is this the case?

Because all the helmets they are wearing are mate of metal....not the kind of thing you want on your head when you're running around a field in the middle of a lightning storm
