No way to plan it, the time it takes the camera to take the shot makes it impossible to setup.
One of my mates has done quite a few photos with the arrow out of the bow, but all were with SLRs and using burst mode. This was a single shot. Just got lucky.

Nice pic's there. Just wandering, ever lost your arrows in all that undergrowth? We find it bad enough looking in cut grass

Nah, I didn't miss that weekend.
One guy missed but we found his arrow in a tree.
