Just wondering with them discontinuing the KAP Challengers has anyone tried the replacement Winstorm/ Winstorm Carbons? Be a bit till I need new limbs as I can still wind the ones I have up but with only having 28# limbs at the moment I can see at least a couple more cheep pairs being bought before I can justify forking out for some decent limbs

Buying second hand:
  • no warranty
  • no history - you don't know if they have been dry fired or re-finished in the past
Realistically there are few problems buying second hand limbs. I've used second hand and third hand equipment in the past and had no problems. Usual rules apply, have an experienced archer (Not necessarily a coach) check them over and shoot a few arrows out of them before parting with your money.

The Winstorm and KAP Challengers are the same limb, they just have a different paint job.

IMO Its one hell of a gamble.

Unless you've shot that specific poundage and type of limb before, then you won't know if the limb suits you anway!

G3's may be the best Hoyt Limb, but I don't like the way they feel and don't feel comfortable shooting them all day, whereas my limbs I find great, they feel good and I can shoot them for many hours and they feel "right".

E-bays fine if you know what you want. Buying something just because its the "best" won't get you very far.

'Tis also a shame that it costs so much when you do upgrade your limbs... I recently outgrew my KAP Challenger Craft limbs, and decided to get some border TXBs. As I went up 6lbs, I also need new arrows (but much more expensive arrows...). And a new string. And a spare string. And whilst I was in the shop, I bought a new case because I could. And a book. All adds up :-)
