| I know it's not strictly on topic, but when making a string for your bow, why not make several at once. This way you know the jig is set identical. Although you may not be making strings for different bows like me, so my jig is often adjusted.
I always used to make several strings to last the season, and set a couple up ready to shoot. I know it will sound daft, but I used to hang each string from the garage rafters for a week, with a 112lb weight scrounged from a local farmer. This used to pre-stretch the Dacron before I centre served it. It made each string settle in a lot quicker too.
