are all sights the same fitment?

I'm shooting a Yamaha EX Custom with an Arten Deluxe thingy sight.

The sight's not micro adjustment + every so often works loose; which is SOOOO annoying!

If I was to replace the sight to something like a Shibuya Ultima; will the sight mounting block have the same position of screws; and do you think that the screws will fit?

I understand Yamaha are metric screws (though some people re-tap the threads); so will the old screws be needed (and will they fit a different sight block)?

Why is the archery world imperial?

Dave

Usually you'd say yes, but being Yamaha I think you might have an Imperial/Metric issue.

Anyone care to confirm?

thanks for your reply.

I guess, if the screw actually screws into the sight block maybe there could be an issue; but if it just goes through; maybe I could use my old screws.

Looking at the pic of the mounting block it's difficult to tell:

Cheers, D

The threads in the bow will be metric so use the same screws that go into the bow.

Hi Dave,

The archery world is imperial because of the Americans!
British manufacturers, such as Merlin, are metric

Had that problem with moving Shibuya from Stylist to Nexus - just went to nearest proper hardware store and got some more... Holes should be in same place though.
