Unhappy arrow clearance issues

Hi,

I seem to have developed an arrow clearance problem. The fletchings are definitely impacting the riser and leaving a gummy smudge. I am a bit confused as the smudge is sometimes on the back surface of the riser and sometimes on the vertical plate of the arrow rest.

I am shooting 40 lb Hoyt G3 limbs, 30 inch Navigator 540 arrows with 110 grain piles. The limbs appear to be wound in full according to one of our senior club members. The rest is a flipper type rest, where the tension of the flipper if coarsely adjusted by bending the prong arms apart/together. I cannot use one of the more faancy rests as my rider has only one hole drilled in it, and it is occupied by the pressure button. Judging by the impact angle and grouping at the target face, the arrows appear to fly straight at distances from 20yds to 100yds.

can you offer any advice on curing this problem. Will the rest flipper tension play much of a part? It was set quite weak

Just to clarify: by "back surface" do you mean the part of the bow furthest from the archer at full draw (i.e. the back of the bow)? The bit closest to the archer (behind the button) being the belly of the bow...
