Titanium Riser? Titanium Sight

Strikes me that Titanium would be a sweet material to use for a riser. Expensive yes - but light and strong :-)

Maybe less extreme would be a sight extension made out of titanium. Would it be better than carbon?

The material would be good but shaping or machining it would be a nightmare,.

It would be a good material to use if it wasnt for the stupid costs involved

Could be a long wait, there is a world shortage of Titanium, its even delayed the first flight of the Boeing Dreamliner by 6 months due to non availability of Titanium to manufacture bolts.

Isn't Titanium actually heavier than Aluminium but stronger. It is lighter than steel so used instead of aluminium where the stresses would be too much for aluminium.

Only basing this on the fact that the Titainium screws I bought to replace some weaker Aluminium ones were heavier.

Some carbon riser compounds are as light as 2lbs According to those who have shot them, they are not so nice to shoot. Perhaps there is a design weakness or could there be a weight limit, below which any bow will feel unpleasant?
