Where to Try new limbs

Dear all,

I'm at the point where I want to upgrade my SF GSF limbs, and have the funds really to buy any limb on the market, lucky me

I need to find an archery shop within a fair distance (Oxfordshire) that stocks all the top level limbs, i.e. Hoyt, Samick, W&W and Boarder. They also need to have the facility to allow me to try before I buy, if you know what I mean.

I really wanted to use Merlin but they don’t stock Samick or boarder. I've had a quick look round but I’m starting to think there might not be a shop that has them all

Any Ideas

Good luck with finding anywhere round here that stocks Border, I've given up and am going up to their factory instead!

You may find that you end up having to go to a few shops, rather than just the one. I believe WAS (Wales Archery Specialists) stock Border, but they have no website.

The short answer is that there isn't a shop that supplies all the limbs available. Each shop has it's own favourites, virtually all stock Hoyt, but the others vary depending on the company.

It really is worth travelling to try all the different limbs available. When I was choosing my setup I had to go to three different places (Travelled about 300miles in total) and the fact I got limbs that I am comfortable with was worth the £40 of petrol.

But they have a telephone

WAS do indeed stock a few selected Borders, as well as many others. They have a short indoor range to test them. Don't go on a Saturday, or in the school holidays, that's when they are their busiest.

I suspected they'd have a telephone - I just couldn't find the number given they have no website and I have no yellow pages that covers Wales..

no sooner mentioned than destroyed..... though nice to know that WAS stock Border, was trying to decide whether a trip up North was really worth it. Sitting there getting in touch with friends on the way "if I happen to be passing on my way......"
