Merlin Elite

I'm looking for a new setup and the Elite is on my short list, however I'm looking for as much info as possible on it. Does anyone have some first hand experience with it? Info I'm looking for is stuff like weight, ease of limb alignment and weight adjustment, overall look and feel, any issues with a specific limb or limb manufacturer, that kind of thing. I'm also curious about the colours. I emailed Merlin to ask about them and they said that the pictures were not that good at showing the colours so I'm wondering if anyone has any that show them better. I'm most interested in the red, black and red/black fade. Also, anyone know what the fade is? Is it a red up top fading to black at the bottom (or vice versa) or a red top and bottom fading to black in the middle (or vice versa)?

i shoot a Quazer riser and have done from day one and cannot fault it , i am on my third set of limbs ( upgraded each time) and have had no problem with the limb set up.

i know a number of people who shoot the Elite and again they cannot fault it.

I am lucky to have Merlin up the road from me and when i have brought new limbs they have set them up for me etc and their customer service i cannot fault and it has been mentioned many times in the forum.

Their risers come in standard colours and the finish is very good , as stated in this months Bow International one of the few things they do not do on site is the anodising , so if you want a differant colour they may be able to arrange.

IMHO you will be happy if you choose an Elite

And Clicki has seen where and how her bow was made, courtessy of Ben!! If anyone wants to have a fascinating day out, shooting from the covered in lines, even sitting in the Tepe' I would ring and arrange to go visit.

A tepe', you ask ? If you want to know what I'm on about, ask Clicki what a curiosity shop the Merlin centre is, it made her smile !

Thanks for the comments. Still nothing on the colours though, hmmm. I should also point out that I'm planning on using it with Sebastien Flute SHC limbs, if I can find a cheap pair in my size before they are all gone.

I took a look at a few of these a month or two back and very much liked the look of them (just need a few spare pounds to buy one tho')

Of the available colours I recall seeing a Silver/Stainless Steel effect and the Red colour. Both looked great IMO, though I particularly liked the Red one which had a slight copper coloured metallic tint to it.

I've got an all black Elite and it does the job quite nicely. Looks good with my setup to. Afraid I can't get as lyrical about it as some people, but only because I'm boring and don't get overly exited about risers. I tried attaching 2 pictures than Merlin sent me when I bought my riser, but in the preview they were bloody huge and I didn't want to hog people's bandwidth. PM me with your e-mail address and I e-mail them to you. They are 1.8MB each. Not the best pictures in the world, but one does show the fading. I can try and take some pictures of my riser if you want, but I don't know how well the black will photograph and it might take a couple of days.

[EDIT] O, and you can get one in black if you want. I don't mind if someone has the same colour riser as me.

Did that cost any extra to have a custom job or was it done aftermarket?
