The way I see it I would much rather give my business to local companies rather than international suppliers. It's as simple as that really.

Oh, and borders limbs and customer service are awesome too, which helps.
Checking bank balance, kids christmas wish list, ebay, lost and found....and phoning Sid...

Cheers Guys and gals..

If I've learned anything from this thread it's that there's a lot of 'not quite similar ideas' but the net result as ever... after picking through and wishing we could add rep points is - Conundrum sorted. thanks again and merry christmas!!

I went from 38# 68" limb to 38# 66" limb, both stylist carbon foam.
And you gained 3cm at 70m? That's it, I'm getting shorter limbs!

It would be nice to get a confirmation, but I have seen that happen with archers going from very basic limbs to top range ones like Winex.

My sight marks went about 3cm up on my sightrail, although I changed tab and also re-tuned my bow at the same time so some of the improvement could be down to tuning also.

3 cm on the sightrail! - in archery terms thats almost an inch and a half! yes - plus a bit of tuning...still wins the argument!
Short limbs for short ar...short drawlengths like mine.
Thanks for the confirmation Krela - just hope I can get the same results!

I would strongly suggest a try before you buy approach, as you can see from almost any 'advice' thread on this and any other archery website what works for some may not work for all.

I would take your current setup to your local archery shop and try out a few different combinations, see what difference they make, then make your mind up what may be the best way for you.

It might be worth your while trying before you buy. I recently went through the exact same thought process. I currently shoot 68" 32lb so I bought some cheap 66 32lb limbs and tried them. I repeatedly clattered by bow arm which I seldom do with my 68" or with any of my compound bows. The whole experiencedidn't go well at all and as much as I tried to keep my arm out of the way I still kept on clattering it.

To make matters worse, my portsmouth scores were down around 30 on my usual scores.

I am not entirely sure of the reasons, but I have decided to stick to my 68" limbs and the following week had no problems at all!

If I understand it correctly I really could be using 66inch limbs - giving a lower brace height/longer powerstroke ( which is my next equipment experiment)

Like you Sambow - i cant think why that should happen...
To be honest though sometimes I cop the 'archers mark' with my usual gear..though it's always down to incorrect set-up and usually having a strong bow arm set-up....just in the wrong place! ...that or a god-awful slow hooked release.
I'll watch for that...or rather 'feel' it as and and when.
