| Have you tried pulling FMJs out of a hard boss on a wet day?

| Yes, luckily I was doing the scoring/adding up but the two chaps on pulling duty were cursing the lady archer that was using them. This was during one of those only mildly wet days we had last summer.

| Yes, I had heard that Easton reccommended soap, but only when archers started talking about another manufacturers products.

| Ivory Soap bar works fine Woody's Lube works fine as well Mink Oil works well In order to use less, just dab the point and not more than a few millimeters of the shaft. That is more than enough. It makes the expensive stuff last longer (in the bottle!) |

| Take a 35mm film container, fill with sponge, spray liberally with Mr.Sheen. Dip point of arrow into sponge & replace container lid. Keep sealed container in quiver for future use. No weight no mess.I've used this method for years. ![]()

| I have to admit to toying around with 'Heat', 'Tingle' and 'Feel' but never KY or silicon. On those rare occaisions when friction is a problem I have just plumped for a generous helping of ol'fashioned 'gob' when there's nothing else to hand 'in the field'. Clean and Clear (my lads' blackhead lotion) is pretty good for removing tacky debris too. I'm quite upset actually that I don't generally need a lube - maybe my set-up just doesn't generate the same heat as other guys' ![]() |

| It's me again - the liquid was, in fact Black Magic Tire wet, so my recollection was pretty good. I don't know if this is available iin UK. I've also tried Armoral, but I think the Tire Wet was better. Locally, the indoor ranges have dialed back to a somewhat softer foam, so I've rarely used it recently. (They may have to do something about the new 2712 arrow shafts now available for the NFAA Field Archery crowd - the new foam we used at a shoot last weekend was taking a pounding. I hear that the NFAA is finally looking at limiting the arrow size. We let them shoot in "open" disivision at some of our FITA shoots.) One time, I refilled my tube a bit generously... It left a wet spot on the target and migrated up the shaft as I shot, so I couldn't grip the shaft. Too much leaves you with a worse problem than before. The only problem I had with the film can (which is increasingly hard to find in this digital age) was with dripping as I had a hole in each end. Some found that the can fit neatly in their quiver's arrow tube. |
