If you are happy with the number of strands then I would talk to your local shop and try a different thickness of serving and see if that solves the problem first.

As far as nock fit is concerned I'm happy with 16 strand Angel Majesty and a no.1 Beiter....

I use a 1/4" standard Beiter nocking point (the one without the threaded bits), and wide g nocks seems to detach ok.
Also using 8125 18 strand string, this may change soon tho.
