| My nocking point is on the centre serving of the string.....and the bottom of the arrow nock is exactly 3.5mm above square from the arrow rest, so the nock end of the shaft is sitting 3.5mm higher than the that of arrow shaft on the rest

| The bottom of my nocks are exactly 8mm above square, I think its very dependant on your own setup, I bareshaft to find out what works best for me

| 4mm above square (measured against the rest) to the bottom of the nock. Determined as the lowest nock point to give me good groups. Why would you measure a nock point against the middle of the button when the arrow sits on the rest ?

surely as long as i measure from the same place each time it makes no odds as to what the reference point is ? slainte : rob

| Good question, Rob. At the end of the tuning session(s) what really matters is that you can check whether or not the nocking point has moved and where to put a new one should you need to. All you need, in my opinion, is a reference point that can be relied upon and a way of remembering how you measured the relationship. You could use centre of button and, using a bracing gauge, note the distance above that level of the top nocking point or even bottom nocking point. For convenience, many archers use the arrow rest as the reference point. Some measure up to the bottom nocking point, others to the top one. Some archers use only one nocking point so they have one option removed before they start. It's a similar story with brace height. Distance from string to........? could be throat of grip; button, far side of riser level with......? So long as you know where you measured and what the measurement is. |

| My nocking point is 4mm above square measured from the arrow rest - determined through a bareshaft test. As has been said, it will vary a lot dependant on your setup and individual shooting style. |
