| Angel sight Whilst picking up a new string from a well known archery shop I saw an Angel sight like this one advertised at another well know archery shop Archery Shop & Archery Products from Alternative Sporting Services and instantly wanted it. I know a sight is just a thing to hold a sightpin and my current Dual Click is perfectly decent but the Angel has, for me at least, a serious "want it" factor. It looks very similar in design to the Spiga Carbon 30 and is very similar in price but I prefect the look and perhaps the rarity of the Angel. I've had a look and there's not much commentary on the forum about these so does anyone have any thoughts before I rush back to get it ? |

| you have to be careful posting links from altservices. they seem to be unique for each visitor, so anyone else clicking that link will just be routed to their homepage

| I was tempted by the Angel sight, too. It was new into Quicks when I first saw it, so Pete Champion and I decided to give it a thorough looking over. Nicely designed. Gorgeous case (that's important to a girl, ya know!). Definitely the *want it* thing going on. But he also showed me several other sights in the same class. Again, we went over them carefully, weighing up form and function. In the end, after a lot of consideration, I bought the Shibuya Ultima. It felt more solid and smooth than the Angel. I really wanted to like the Angel best overall. I do as far as looks go, but in the end (and you all know how important *the look* of my kit is to me), Shibuya just had that something extra. Would love to hear how you get on with the Angel. I've always liked their products, so I'm sure you've chosen very well for you. Enjoy it! ![]() ![]()

| I like my Angel sight. It's a old model but still works fine and looks a little different. When I do get around to replacing it over the next couple of years it'll be a #### up between the new Angel models and a Shibuya Ultima ![]() The Angel sights are nice looking and well made pieces of kit ![]() |

| Ooops sorry about that link and thanks to clickerati for the pic I had a good look at the Ultima too and agree it has a quality look and feel to it ahead of most others, with the exception of the Copper John FITA which looks incredibly well engineered, but I'm sold on the idea of keeping the mass of the sight near the riser rather than it acting like a top rod. This totally rules out the CJ sight and my Dual Click is less front heavy than the Ultima. My Fibrebow is very light so the effect of the weight of the sight is more pronounced and I'm deliberately trying to keep the overall mass down and don't want to have to counteract the sight by adding weight elsewhere. Looks like I've talked myself into it doesn't it ! |

| I've had one for about 5 years. It's the compound model which has the same design as the current recurve model (the old recurve had the notched bar with the screw engaging the side, like the older Shibuyas). I use it on my recurve (this was AltService's suggestion, and it worked out for me). The two problems I had seem to have been addressed in the new model: The third axis screw fell out on my practice end at the Indoor Nationals, but it's been fine since then with some lock-tite. The side mount sometimes ratttles loose, but the new sight has a screw that pushed down at an angle to wedge the bar into the corner of the side mount (like Sure-Loc) while mine pushed straight in from the side. It does require the use of a set screw before moving the elevation, which is annoying. Otherwise, I like it a lot, admittedly partly because it's different and I like the design. I waited for months for a Spig, but they were backordered, so AltServices suggested the Angel. |

how would you compare the two now? i have yet to see either here in Sydney so am looking at them online only. ------------ interesting that the Angel compound version is cheaper than the recurve one. i thinkt it looks like a better attachment to the riser too. |

| I had only seen one Spig 30 briefly and read some positive reviews. I wanted to replace my Yamaha YS-V which has a similar design but lacked click adjustments. (Before that, I had an Arten - similar design to the Yamaha, but lower quality.) I bought the Angel shortly after it was released in about 2001 - the guys at AltServices suggested that this was a good substitute to the Spig since I was tired of waiting (if was August and I knew I wouldn't get it before the end of their August vacation.) I have a new left-handed compound Angel sight with short carbon bar, if you're interested. |
