I used to shoot FastFlight strings. I had 4 of them and all the servings were prone to moving. I have 3 Angel Majesty strings with another 3 on order from RodUK on this site. They are excellent. 18 strand rather than 16 strand. Have I lost out in speed? Maybe, but the stability more than makes up for the additional 2 strands. The servings are all rock solid. The bow is quiet.

If you have a look in one of the string threads around here (can't remember which one) Buzz Lite Beer came up with some interesting results in terms of the effect of strand count on speed/stability. In short, the 16 strand string was around 1fps faster but didn't lose any "stability" in terms of group size. I'm sure he can give you more detailed info about the difference in how they feel to shoot if he sees this thread.

Put another way 0.68 miles per hour.

I think to most archers the actual difference in arrow speed is not noticeable and particularly with recurve the loose has got to be very, very consistent to make any real difference.

IMHO choose the string you like most and put your efforts into consitency and bow tune for the biggest differences in performance.

i used to have a simple cartel one, and i thought that that was part of the problem too. now i have an rx10 - it doesn't come in contact with the string, and has the added bonus of not falling over in the wind!
