X10 Tungsten vs Stainless Steel points.

Hopefully, those that in the know will help me out here...like for like on the grain weight, what differences (if any) is there between the Tungsten and Stainless Steel points on the X10? Specifically a bare shaft test result but also downrange sight mark gain or loss?
Can anyone advise of the results please?

Basically a tungsten point adds more mass to the front of the arrow in a more compact area.

weight and mass are different things.
A ton of steel is a smaller pile than a ton of feathers.

so it is the density of the object of a given pile weight and its placement that counts?

It's probably best to note I am in fact studying rocket science...

There is actually NO difference between the tungsten point and the steel point, except for the following things:

1: the tungsten point is much harder, and wont flatten on impact with any wood like the steel point may

2: the density of the tungsten point is greater than the steel, and means the point is smaller (shorter in fact), which means the extra length of the steel point makes the FOC of the arrow greater.

3: steel points come in 90-100-110 gn weights, and tungstens come in 100-110-120gn weights.

They are the only 3 differences between the two points.
oops, beat me to it

One of the main advantages of tungsten in an X10 is that it reduces breakages in hard bosses due to the shorter shaft length of the point.

Thought I would add as the SS is longer you can end up cutting the shaft shorter.

Might be an issue if you decide on Tungston at a later date

So, SP220, I thought you said there were only 2 differences? you've now added another one, the price!

Seriously though, if you shot 3 doz at 70m with aces, and then with x10s (assuming a decent tune with both), what are the score differences?
