Get one and you will benefit from a consistant draw length. It will add a degree of confidence and control to your shooting.

If you're getting a Beiter it depends on how deep the clicker screw hole in your riser is.

They make two clickers for W&W risers the KL632Z is 3/8" deep (Dark Green Screw Washer) and the KL632A is 5/16" deep (Blue Screw Washer). Stick a cocktail stick down the hole, mark it with a pencil and measure the depth then you'll know which one to order.

I've been shooting recurve for 15years and never used a clicker, and i'm expecting to make MB this year. So its not essential for good shooting.
You only need it if your draw length is not consistant, and it takes a while to sort that out.

Just think, you might have made it much sooner with a clicker ....

ok I will make it more explicit, no "good" recurve archer in this country shoots without a clicker and you will never see an archer without a clicker at an international target competition. Therefore it is a pointless experience, like drinking warm champagne or listening to the beatles without earmuffs (as the great sean connery once said).

As a comparatively inexperienced archer myself, I'd still say get a clicker. No doubt about it.

In my case, a clicker lifted me from second class to first (no sniggering you MBs) almost overnight. Why? Because it improved my shot sequence 100%.

Specifically, once I fitted the clicker I stopped letting go as soon as I saw the gold in my (moving) sight and was instead able to draw, settle/aim, expand through clicker, then shoot. The clicker gave me the ability to settle on gold and then finish the shot sequence in a controlled manner, because 'click' became the trigger to shoot, not 'just seeing the gold in the sight' as was the case before.

Buy one!
