Having assembled my club's jig, stared at it, attempted to stick an arrow in and wondered what the hell I was supposed to do with the clamp I went back to fletching by hand.
But when there's a pile of a hundred arrows to fletch you don't have time for messing around. I guess when I need to refletch my own I might have another go.

Methinks you should read Tom Sawyer... Sell the opportunity to fletch to your friends in the same way he got his aunt's fence painted.

We have more than 100 to fletch. Need straightening to. Was it you who was saying (like a year ago SEAL at Sussex) about shooting in a rifle range and nailing arrows? Well we got a fair dose of that shooting against a brick wall. so I sympathise with you!

I myself use a cartel jig. I've used tollgate and sherwood and didn't like them. The cartel jig is just so amazing for the price (£20) allowing you to change so many settings and up to 5.5 inch fletching.

A word to the wise though. Mine came set on 4 fletches per arrow.

I'm guessing if it's club arrows they're mainly aluminium (principal's the same anyway) so, clues here: Fletching Aluminum Arrows.

I expect it was me, with the newbies missing the target and hitting the metal plate behind, including with my spare set that I'd leant out >_<. I ordered a netting last year, but knowing the current committee I doubt anyone's hung it yet.

Had a Tollgate, got a Sherwood (out on loan). Picked up a Bitzenberger Jig for a good price on E-Bay and its the best of the three
