Will that thread be of the anti-backlash variety(ground)?? I apologize if this has been asked before, I did try a search.....................
It is extremely well made as are most things made by Merlin (mind you I admit to being a bit of a fan).

Re "anti-backlash variety (ground)" I am not sure I have come across that termonolgy before. what I can say is there is no hysterisis, a sight mark can be approached from either direction and its the same. Once a position is set there is no play whatsover and the sight holds true to setting throughout the shoot. Also like most sights along the Sure Loc type of design I think the brass button provides spring loading pressure against the thread. To make major movements this is depressed which dissengages the thread and then the sight pin carrier can be slid up and down.

I hope that helps.

There is no significant play in this type of thread. So moving from clockwise movement to anti clock the sight with move immediately with the change in direction. Might be an issue if it was a clicky sight, perhaps?? I don't know, I'm new to archery. Just wondering. Looks great though.

Thats how the sight works there is a tiny needle pointer on the scale. If the top knob is turned one click clockwise (about 36 degrees of movement) the needle can be seen to move a fraction up. If it turned one click back it immediately moves back to where it came from. As I said there is no hysterisis, it would be of little use if it did have.

Dan at Merlin told me this (Sept 2006) "We will be re designing the sights for next year and they will probably be under the 'logic' logo." "(We) are discounting the classic sight for £80.00."

Presumably there's been a delay, or they bought the Booster stuff in instead!

I use one. Good rock solid stuff. The clickiness is especially nice. Spring loaded ball bearings, o-rings everywhere.

The sight is now sold, but I have spare sight pin holders for sale on ebay at the moment:

Spare 8/32 recurve sight pin holder

Spare Compound 10/32 sight pin holder.

The compound adapter is useful if you wish to try compound without the expense of a decent compound site. Note it doesn't provide 2nd or 3rd axis adjustment though. I used it this way for 12 months!
