Weight adjustment Hoyt GM

I have a Hoyt Gold Medalist with Hoyt Carbon/Wood limb 36#.

I'm sure this has been covered many times before and if so, I apologise in advance.

Has anyone ever tested or know for a fact where the stated limb weight is measured in relationto the limb pocket adjustment device. ie. Is the limb pocket right in, right out or wound half way? And further to that is the 10% adjustment measured up

I thought the sensible thing to do would be measure the weight with set of scales.....unfortunately through testing on known weighted objects the set of scales I have is out by 4lbs...great...

i would say right out, but with full thread holding the bolt/screw, wind them in and the poundage increases. anyware from 10 - 15% increase, even with your dodgy bowscale you should still see a difference and work it out.

I was told, rightly or wrongly, that Hoyt riser's factory settings have the limb pocket bolt at halfway thereby enabling you to take off / add on up to 5% to the poundage. W&W type risers have the bolt full out enabling you to add on up to 10% to the poundage. Hope this helps untill someone who knows what their talking about comes along.
