| One eye! Hi I shoot with both eyes open. I'm sure I was taught to do this. Is this correct? Or is it a preference thing?? Thanks |

| Yes, but if through injury like me you cant shoot left handed and your eye dominance dictates that you close your left eye otherwise you'll never hit what you are aiming at. Regards John

| It's generally considered best to shoot with both eyes open if you can. I believe closing one eye can cause eye fatique over a long shooting period. Although persoanlly I close one eye, because otherwise I the dot becomes double and confuses me. I haven't really noticed eye fatigue.

| I was always given to believe that shooting with one eye shut changes the blood flow to the closed eye. Also, one eye closed, or in the dark (eyepatch) caused imbalance of the vision. This is why opaque patches or blinkers are advocated. A blinker is a shield that usually afixes to the side of a spectacles frame in such a way as to not impede normal forward vision, but obsures the sideways view from the left eye when the right eye is looking across the bridge of the nose as when shooting. Certainly, the view from 2 eyes is much larger (more than twice) than the view from just one.

| Occasionally, having both eyes shut tends to be the best way forward.....
