Because they're not made any more. Hoyt dropped them either last year or the one before, when they started making the Helix/Nexus...

Hoyt dropped them towards the end of 2006 (I think) to make way for the Helix and the Nexus - I remember because I was choosing my new riser then and was looking at these new spangled things just coming out and not being available for ages.

Its a shame indeed. I much preferred the Aerotec over the newer risers. Maybe one day, when i feel like a change, I will scout around for an old 2nd hand Aerotec

That I will. I like the Ultra so much I've got 2. There are some bows though, that I might not want to shoot day in day out, but I'd like to have them just to.. have. The Aerotec is one, the Axis another..

the axis is very well a favoured bow and heavy, i love my Aerotec after having owned samicks previous, i have shot a nexus and helix but prefer the Aerotec, (maybe because it was mine)
but a bow is a bow is a bow, something to hold a string and flick arrows, i would imagine that the top risers although look different work in much the same way as each other. its all down to the look of the riser, but wouldn't it be fun to have an A League archery comp. all the same equipment and then you know its the archer and not the gear thats putting them in the gold,
worth considering, maybe an internet comp all shooting the same spec bow,??(trouble is no one could agree on which make or manufacturer lol)

I agree that the Aerotec was better than the Helix/Nexus. But then the Axis was even better - I now have two .

I have a spare Axis and Aerotec and would happily swap either for a 2nd Helix or an Ultra

Horses for courses.
