Forever right

Hi,

The last couple of times I've been shooting I've been coming across something rather peculiar, I'm always hitting to the right of the gold (think somewhere in the blue, black), I've tried the obvious and just wound the sight right and still I'm constantly shooting to the right - I was wondering if anybody here could possibly shed any light on what I'm doing wrong to make me always hit to the right of the gold!

Thank you

James

i had this problem once - the arrow went about a foot and a half diagonally up and right from the gold. i tried everything: pressure button, sight, reference - all the usual suspects, but every shot went in the same place (it was actually quite a good group ).

then i looked at the string, which was also diagonal to the bow...

turned out the bottom limb wasn't actually in the pocket properly...

oops. took it out and it was fine again, but didn't stop the embarrasment! what have you done so far exactly?

if you arrows are grouping consistently right at the same height as the gold, then your arrows may be to 'whippy' and you may need to stiffen them up a tad.

a paper tuning test may show you if they are too whippy.

Rather than being too weak they are actually a little stiff so I've wound my limbs in to make them tune - I still get a decent (for me) group out of them and the bare shaft shows that they are still a little teeny bit stiff.

So I'm not too quick to blame my kit - I think it far more likely that its my form that's lacking and I'm pretty confident that I'm not grabbing the bow as I release.

Have you recently changed to a new tab? Sometimes when I'm breaking in a new tab, I get RH groups for a bit.

Sounds like alignment to me. Get a coach to check you out.

There's a whole range of information missing from your post. What kind of bow do you shoot? Left or right handed? What distances are you talking about? How long have you noticed this? What else have you changed? etc. etc. etc. Diagnosis is impossible.

murray, is it me, i get a distinct feeling that everytime i post on here its negative, yet i prefer to think of it as .......commonsense,

why do people instantly believe that when arrows suddenly decide to drift in groups i might add, left or right .
that its the equipment...

if you set footmarkers indoors (at 20 yds) and stand square or in your usual position, put 3 arrows in a group, then move one heel 1/4 of an inch you will find your group is approx. 3" - 5 " across the face from the first group. so imagine how far out it will be at 90mtrs
