| does your tab touch your nocking points just a quick question, probably a simple answer but i dont no it ![]() i have started to use tie on nocking points after using the crimp on ones for a while but i dont no if my tab should touch the nocks when you place your fingers on the string. ive always cut my tab so that my fingers/tab do not touch the brass nocking points and lie above and below them respectively, but is this the case for tie ons? what does everyone else do? does your tab wrap around the nock points and serving or just contact the serving? many thanks in advance |

| my tab touched my nocking thread nocking points, and because you can move them by rotating them, it consequently had a habit of moving them... it doesn't touch my nocking points any more!!

many thanks for both your answers, what do you mean by wraps george? do you mean the size of the tied on nocking point? yeah i have noticed that with tied on nock points they do tend to move due to the tab rubbing on them hence why i liked brass nocking points, but i think i might reduce the size of the nocking points and trim my tab so it doesnt touch them anymore, but will have to increase the size of my finger spacer as im badly pinching my arrow and have recieved a blister on the inside side edge of my index finger due to the arrow rubbing on it. the reason i started this is that looking at professional archers there fingers seem to touch the arrow with no gap etc, just wondered why many thanks |

| I use tied-on nocking points (above and below). I hook onto the string and slide my tab up to the lower nocking point to ensure identical placement, but there is plenty of clearance and no rub marks on the tab face to indicate touching the tab. In case you are interested, Yes - tie-on nocking points can slip. However, I use about 5 turns of BCY8250 whip finished (ie no knots) and then soaked in liquid locktight. They are very small, lightweight, and outlast the string. They end up like small shiny beads. The tab has no chance of moving them. After 15 years of shooting and frustration with many different knocking point types, plastic, dental floss, crimp, heatshrink etc etc, these are the best nocks i've used. I must thank GreenSteve for suggesting it. Mark H

| Just out interest, how do you move them then if you say add or remove twist, or change limbs etc? Isn't superglue a little... permanent?

| Just slice them off gently with a knife, they will come away from the string no problem, as long as youre careful not to cut the string!
