| When buying a dozen Easton points, they have always come with a small brown gluestick. I use an ordinary clear gluestick for hotmelt gluing my points. |

| It'll be fine to carry on as you always have with hotmelt or gluestick....but as you've pointed to - being carbon they'll be especially susceptible to too hot a pile. in the case of hotmelt, get the pile hot enough to liquify the solid glue on application....but not much hotter - you don't want to transfer that heat to the shaft....and cause the shaft to become a swollen and worthless 'brush' of fibres ![]() dropping the arrow tip into cool water is not something I'm a fan of in the case of alloy cored arrows - for me the glue has sometimes become less adhesive leading to loose piles later - but in the case of carbon shafts I'd advocate dowsing in a cool mug of water to ensure the minimum of heat transfer after adding piles. |

| i shoot redlines and have to agrre with Mr custard in regards to the cooling of the tips under a running tap or cup of cold water, what tips are you getting?? i have ACC points but prefer NIBB as for fletching i use FF150 and have found that super glue is the best, cheapest and easiest way of adhering to the carbon with a plastic Fletch Fletch. and the small G Nock is perfect for the shaft.

| Definately put the tips in water after putting the piles in. I usually use tepid water rather than cold.

| I use hotmelt for my 100gr ACC points. Never had a problem with it, and I can melt it again, if I decide to shorten the arrow or change the point. |

Just make sure you clean out the inside of the shaft with acetone after cutting and before glueing in the points. for the cost and manufacturers specs i would rate these as one of the best value for money arrows around. shame allot of clubs are trying to ban them.

| Changed the points in my old redlines a couple of times and never had a problem. Heat the pile until its just becomes to hot to hold with bare fingers and put the hot melt on.Then heat again to same temperature and insert.Rather than immerse in water i prefered to place them pointing up to the ceiling while they cooled. They are stone cold after 4-5 minutes

| Hey all, Thanks for all the advice ............... ![]() Another quick one, about to go fletching them with plastifletch. I've been told 2 very different ways to go: 1. On the peril of the arrows life DO NOT clean the fletch with alcohol and 2. On the peirl of the arrows life MAKE SURE you clean the fletch with alcohol. As you can understand, this confuses me somewhat. What would you think is the way to go? Using AAE Fastset Gel if that make a difference. |
