Jager v Hoyt Ortho grips

Considering splashing out on one of the jager BEST grips, but was wondering how it would compare to the Hoyt Ortho (high) grip that I am currently using.

If possible, does anyone have a Jager BEST grip that would fit a Hoyt Eclipse that I could borrow for a couple of weeks???

Thanks

I've tried both and I think the Jager grips are nicer. They're quite similar in shape but i find them more comfortable. Its quite a personal thing so you may find differently.

I have just moved from a Hoyt Ortho to the Jager BEST and prefer the Jager, so no options to lend it out, sorry.

It is a lot higher and some people that have held my bow didn't like it. In fact it feels as high again as the move from the standard grip to the ortho grip.

I prefer the more positive contact I get with the Jager and with it the first shoot I did resulted in my thread in the "achievements" section when I shot well above my PB.

I would say that just holding the bow is not a great way of getting a feel for the Jager grip. A lot of people pick up the riser and don't really like it. It is only when you actually draw the bow that you really get a feel for it.

I really like mine and can't see going back, but can't compare it with the Ortho, since I haven't used one.

I think you are doing the right thing in seeing if you can borrow one. Best of luck

I have both and agree with the general consensus that the Jager is a nicer product. I'm actually back shooting a plastic Ergo at the moment because I'm not fit enough to maintain the higher wrist consistently (Ortho and Jager ). But once I have my shoulder positioning reliably correct I will probably go back to the Jager.

Jager grip all the way !

It took a couple of sessions to really settle in with it but now I just could not imagine going back to the Hoyt grip.
The only grips I have ever tried that feel nicer are on the old Marksman bows such as the TS-4 and Princess.

You really do have to shoot with the grip for a few hours at least before deciding if you like it or not. Also delivery from the USA is very very quick mine came in less than a week from paying for it, and the comms were excellent as well.

Well as I shot 1000s of arrows on the standard grip, 1000s of arrows on the ortho grip and 100s of arrows with the Jager I think I could comment on the differences.

The ortho grip is a mid point between the Jager BEST and the Hoyt standard.

I find with the Jager grip the position of the hand on the grip is far more positive and easier to locate each time.

It also help further to push out the elbow and now I get a lot more consistancy with the front hand, just working on the release and back tension now...

I can't comment on the Ortho grip, But I currently shot a jagger grip, I real like the feel of this grip and it suits my shooting I have noticed on thing. The Grip has changed my Bow shoulder which is now slightly higher, the knock on effect is my draw length is slightly reduced but only by a fraction, also if hand position is slightly wrong then it can cause arrows to go a drift.

Also A friend had bought a jagger grip with Black rubber this went soft on a traing camp at Lilleshall, I haven't had any such problems with mine but I have white rubber.

Jager Best grip all the way and I agree with the comments about just holding it and saying you hate it. Shooting with it will quickly take away any doubts you had. It's well designed and custom colour combo's to boot.
Great delivery from the USA.
I've been more than happy with mine, it's been a saviour for me after all the troubles I had with the previous wooden Axis grip.
My hand is now in the, what I regard as the perfect position and the bow feels rock solid.
