YAY! My bow finally arrived!

Man, it seemed like it was on the slow boat from Korea. This is my first recurve (ever).

It's a KAP Prostyle riser, Greatree Mohegan 66" 32# limbs, Cartel Medalist sight, Shibuya DX plunger, Cavalier Champion II rest.

Couple questions:

1. The fiber optic rod for the sight. Which way does it stick in? Like I have it now, or with the bulk of the rod on the opposite side of the sight pin? (it didn't come with instructions)

2. Adjusting the rest. HOW? I know how it's supposed to be set up, but how do I adjust everything? (Again, didn't come with instructions)

If it's like other Cavalier rests the LH grubscrew allows you to adjust the vertical alignment whilst the RH grubscrew adjusts the wire in and out.

I usually stick my fiber optic from the back of the sight pin or the opposite of yours so the bigger end covers the black plastic ring it goes into.

Be warned though that too long a fiber optic will get you disqualified in a competition, yours looks a little too long to me though I'm not sure what the official standards are. I just use a beiter sight tunnel

Hi there,

well done on getting your first bow, very good!

The FITA rule on pins like that is that a straight pin can not stick out more than 20mm, for competition both yours and the Beiter pin would need to be trimmed down (cut with scissors )

Just for clarification

Alex

The overall length of the sight (tunnel, tube, sighting pin and/or
other corresponding extended component) will not exceed 2cm in
the line of vision of the athlete.
From the rule book
They seem to keep changing that. One time it was 2.5 cm in front, then 2.5 including the sight tunnel, now it's 2, including the tunnel....
