You're in the same position as me (OK, it's only 6 years for me, but still!) and I'd say get back into it. you obviously want to. It's a massive outlay in one go (I think I "need" to spend about £550 ish, minimum!) but after that it's not an expensive hobby, all things considered. And I bet at least one of your sons will get into it. Besides, it's good to have your own interests.

Welcome back

Just enjoy the sport, if you get back to or even surpass your previous level great if not then at least you are enjoying yourself. I have only been shooting for 3 years but for me the fact of doing a sport again is more important than the scores ( yes I do want good scores but if it happens great if not then why beat myself up trying to attain them).

Again welcome back and have fun

Well!

Those great chaps up at Border gave me a deal I couldn't refuse. They had 1 of their cyclone risers (basically a merlin elite with different holes) and some wood core carbon limbs on clearance. They sent me 2 pairs at different weights for me to decide which to go for. 1 pair of 40lb and 1 pair of 46lb. i'm just debating which to go for but swaying towards the 40's to ease myself back into it. I can crank them up as I go whereas I can't take the 46's down if I feel overbowed.

I've always liked Border limbs. Several people I knew in the past had them and I was always envious of the smoothness and speed of them. I never owned any in the past so I look forward with excitement to letting rip with these. The few pulls I've had with them, I know I wont be disappointed.

When I've gathered everything else together I think I'll start a blog so everyone can have a laugh at my expense as I loose the first arrow into the abyss..........

Border limbs rock! I'm sure you'll enjoy shooting that bow enormously!

And it's just as well really...when you consider how many posts you've made here asking whether you should return to the sport, it would be an awful waste of time and effort if you'd decided against doing so!
