Which answers the first question. The second question was:

2. Is there a way to correct this way of shooting ?

I advise repeated draw in front of a mirror until the feeling of what straight is has become embedded. Does anybody have any 'on the field' suggestions?

John

I found the bows interesting looks like a nexus and an inno carbon, with a very basic setup.

are these new beginners?, or have they been shooting for some time.

There's advice on the second question in the thread IIRC. However, the best bit to note is that arms that look like this may actually be straight .

I've seen many archers that have arms like that and have always thought that its straight and it looks like good form because they are able to rotate their elbow. It only Looks bent because of structure, I suppose? Like hollowpoint mentioned, the arms are probably straight when viewed from above.

spavo: those are what we call standard "class" archers. Most if not all of us here would start with a standard bow and participate in standard bow categories in shoots before we move on to the full recurve bow. The standard bow wouldn't have stabs/extendable sight/live plunger/etc. There are quite a lot of rules pertaining to the standard bow, and can be found in the FITA rule book. hope that helps (:

the arm is fine.
the alignement is bad due to the side anchor and poor position of tab hand, bow hand and rear elbow.
You would NEVER shoot a recurve bent arm
You DO NOT want to push out to the target per se. the whole front end of the shot is only there to give a solid base to the moving back end and stop the bow hitting you in the face.

Hmm could you explain more on how its bad? Would really like to know as I find it difficult to spot faults in form especially with just one picture.

the anchor point is poor, so the alignement will be wrong, therefore the rear elbow will be in the wrong place due to poor anchor point. not much more i can say

Nope, the lower one is Universal and the top one is an older version.

This is how the Universal limbs look like:
