Tubey Grips!!

Ahh, the feel on the string on the nipple
Actually, I've never had that problem and I've never worn one myself,

BUT I couldn't go without my tubey grip when wearing wet wether gear, thats a necessity!!

OK, Chestguard purchased, lets see how I get on with it on Monday

I have an extra long arm brace, so I will see how it goes with the small gap thats left, if I need the tube grip as well!

Thanks everyone.

Regular string contact with breast/chest tissue could cause lumps to appear although they may be benign (if caused by string contact). Do you want to find one?

I just went shooting for the first time in 15 years the other day, and nearly spent 15 minutes looking for my nipple somewhere downrange. I was sure it was ripped off. I have since considered using a chest guard.

I've used a chest guard for as long as I can remember. I know there must have been a point at which I wasn't using one, but I don't recall when I purchased my first one.

It just made sense to me, even as a beginner. If you want consistency then any point of contact with the string has to be consistent, so you either wear the same top *all* the time, or buy a chest guard... The added benefits of protection and holding down clothing are just a side effect...

That is exactly what I would post (verbatim.) I have been told by an arbiter that it is mandatory here in Brazil together with the arm guard. In the national tournament it is really required but the local tournaments are not enforcing it yet. He mentioned FITA rules but I could not find anything.

I don't wear one. I tend to wear tight clothing anyway and I'm quite a small build - I find the string just rests on the side of my left boob at full draw - TMI? Perhaps I'm a bit odd!

Not at all odd (assuming you're right handed....). One of the recommended methods is drawing in close on the left hand side (and not like one beginner I saw drawing out round and placing the string in *behind* the, ah, obstruction).

You may find that if you do things slightly wrong, you end up bruised, though. Doesn't have to be much, just a little more pressure can raise a ridge of flesh, which catches as you release.

I've always worn a chestguard. When I don't, my groups go to hell.

I do get an unfortunate amount of chest contact due to body shape, but with a good slick chestguard, it's not a problem to my groups.
