euronations

have heard a rumor that the british are sending their olympic squad to the euronations, say it aint so.
as i understand it is not the euronations for up coming archers to get their first taste of international (ish) competition.
if this is true does it not undermine the whole point of the euro nations..

Hi

Im shooting on the N.Ireland team and have seen the list of the archers from England taking part and none of the olympic team were on the list.

I was also speaking to the tournament orgaiser and nothing was mentioned so I think it is just a rumour and nothing more

glad to hear it.
as i really like the idea of a competition that is for new archers offering them the chance to participate and learn from a big shoot.
as i understand it the euronations is for those who have not previously competed at international level. does anyone have anymore info in regard to this comp and what qualifies an archer to participate.

each country has different selection criteria, scotland, and wales will be fielding archers who have represented gb. this tournament is not meant to be a gentle warm up into higher class shooting at all! england choose not to field gb archers as classically this was a stepping stone to gb team

Archers are allowed to enter this euronations as individuals just like any other Fita star comptition.

To represent your national team each county has different selction criteria as ASW said, but in respect of N.Ireland it was the top 4 ranked archers in each disipline based on their outdoor scores shot from March to June this year
