1 or 2 Nocking points????

When i did my beginners course, i had 2 nocking points on the string and nocked the arrow between.</p>

Now i have my own bow and the shop set it up with 1 nocking point, which i nock the arrow below. </p>

Are both acceptable? Any difference between the two methods? Does anybody have any preference? Or doesn't it matter what you use as long as you have a reference point to nock the arrow???</p>

RE: 1 or 2 Nocking points????

I think I was told that having two nocking points slowed the string down.

When buying my first bow, it was supplied with string which had two nocking points.

Not sure if it would make that much of a difference to a beginner like myself.

From the looks of things, especially Doc's link, i'd say i'm gonna be fitting a second very soon !!!</p>

One other question, again from Docs link, brass or thread? I currently have brass and have noticed it cutting into my tab, which i'm now replacing after 4 weeks, gonna try cordovan instead of leather.</p>

As I've just found out brass does make your arrows quite a bit stiffer so I'd go with thread unless you want stiffer arrows of course </p>

RE: 1 or 2 Nocking points????

I use thread (100% polyester Button thread) and 2 nocks.
Once tied, I drop the smallest anount of superglue onto the
thread to lock things together. emphasise a SMALL amount!

Others use dental floss (i could never get on with it!)

The difficult part is to get the damn things in the right place!
Brass ones are easy to adjust, but thread's lighter, so it
effects the tune (albeit slightly) The thread takes a while to
put on, but once they're there, the bow sounds nicer, The
string is nicer to your tab, and at extreme range, (100yds!)
you get a better sight mark, that MAY mean you actually get
onto the target.

HTH!

Beiter knocking points just sound too fiddly#to me - all that messing around with your serving, are they really worth it? Is there any way to adjust them when they're on?</p>
