Arrow rest

i have a win &win winact 2004. i have a spigarelli magnetic recurve wrap around arrow rest. the curved casting of the riser does not allow the rest to fit well, there is rotational and linear movement, the button is tight. any suggestions. i could pack it out with milliput and profile the rest to the shape of the riser, any solutions?

I had the same problem with a Win&Win Evolution riser and a wrap around arrow rest. I got around it by using strong double sided tape under the rest and then nipping the ring of the button with some pliers to tighten it against the riser; be very careful when doing this though, I managed to destroy my first button by overtightening it! The Milliput suggestion sounds like a good idea though - wonderful stuff that Milliput

RE: Arrow rest

I would just change the rest for a stick on one. There are many around, I personally prefer the ARE ones. They are very simple and light and they also have magnetic return.

RE: Arrow rest

Interestingly, I've just gone from a metal flicky one (the stupidly expensive Cavalier jobbie) to a Hoyt Plastic rest.

It's great.

RE: Arrow rest

I shoot a cheap Hoyt stick-on arrow rest on my borrowed bow. It works. Why did i think I needed an all swinging, all dancing arrow rest AND an adjustable button. What are the advantages of both setups? The price factor, the extra weight, the endless adjustments etc, are they really worth the time, effort and money?

If you're happy with it and you are shooting welll enough, stick with it.

RE: Arrow rest

The Plastic Hoyt rest is superb. I have seen a photo of Yun Mi Jin using a plastic rest.

RE: Arrow rest

im still a fan of the beiter rest, seems to work very well, and ive not had any problems with it, except if your nocking point is set too high then the arrow begins to wear the front of the rest down.
