| RE: insert nocks or pin nocks They're great on X10s, but an absolute liability on ACEs. I was shooting next to a compound guy at the weekend who uses pins and ACEs, he says that he loves the fit of them but has to leave his arrows overlong so when he's hit the back of all of them he can chop them down and start again... Basically, the wall on the ACE isn't strong enough to take the force of the impact and so it tends to force the pin down into the shaft, which is a somewhat expensive mistake. ![]() | |||||||||||||

| RE: insert nocks or pin nocks I wish to use them on my navigators, ACE type construction, no one shoots compound at the club, but in competions, you may share the target with a compound shooter.. But won't the same thing happen with g-nocks, or do they dissipate the distructive forces and you just drill out the inserted plastic? | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| RE: insert nocks or pin nocks I don't know for Navs. Those pins were specifically designed for the Navs, as opposed to being demanded by the public and so hastily produced for the ACE (or so I recall reading somewhere?). You're right for G-nocks (drill them out afterwards), I know a fair few compounds that shoot ACEs with G-nocks because there's a chance the shaft will survive... | |||||||||||||

| RE: insert nocks or pin nocks I hit the back of my ace many time this season and Gnock protected it every time, I lost about 8 arrows due to rear impacts last season with beiter, the gnock is very good for survival chances, for me at least. | |||||||||||||

| RE: insert nocks or pin nocks I have been useing pin nocks for a while now with A.C.Es and Ambo nocks they have saved me a fortune. I have obliterated the nock but the arrow has survived. Very happy me. | |||||||||||||||

| RE: insert nocks or pin nocks Beiter insert nocks work well, if you get the "heavy" ones. I've killed a number of Beiter nocks in the last year or so, with no damage to shafts as a result, even when the strike seems to have been dead centre (judging from the fragments of nock I've managed to piece together). Avoid the overfit nocks, they just seem to "funnel" the incoming arrow down the back of the shaft! | |||||||||||||

| Yup, Beiter nocks are fine with unibushings - they replace the G-nocks directly. With smaller-diameter shafts where there's no unibushing, the nock simply inserts directly into the shaft (and usually needs to be held in place with Pritt or PTFE tape). | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
