Shot a Windsor round today. Scored 177 out of 3 doz at 100 yards. Missed 3 due to extreme winds. No one else got near that score. One guy shooting alloys scored 0, 2 others shooting 36/38 lbs scord badly, all of us had our sights well in. Mine is on the 2nd hole. Three of us shot Navigators.

Shot my ACE's in anger for the first time today. Set up a boss at 90m on our Easter Field Shoot practice area, whilst Shirt and the gang were busy competing.

Sight extension at mid-position left me a good 2.5cm on the bottom of the sight bar................ just wish I'd bought ACE's last year.

Roll-on my St. George score (if I get to shoot it) and Bronte Spring W/e York.

shot 90 m for the first time today and by the end of the session i could hit the target everytime. Doesn't sound like much, but i only have 35 lbs on my fingers, and had to turn my sight round so that it was inside the bow. Oddly, the harder i tried to aim, the more likely i was to miss. I was aware that i over-aim alot but didn't realise how much it would affect me at 90 m, so in the end i was only vaguely lining up the sight and then just expanding through the clicker and enjoying the 'thunk' of arrows hitting the boss!

I shoot with 38.5 pounds on my fingers. I have to have the sight on the back for 90m/100yds. I shoot 26.5inch ACC's. Have been thinking of buying a new set of ACE's or Navigators for this season. Would this help in improving my sight settings?

36 should be enough with carbons. 1250 plus scores have often been shot with just 38 pounds and X7's even at 90m. I say possible but its not reccomended. However a coach here told me that 38 is enough for anything.

Navigators wond give you hardly any better sight marks than an ACC but the ACE will make a massive difference.

ACE's with spinwings will give you a lighter arrow with less drag.

My previous two posts on this thread highlight the difference between ACC's and ACE's. ACC's (3-04) 85gr points @ 27 5/16"; ACE's as bow set-up 100gr points @ 28", both arrows were fletched with the same spinwings.

The difference sight-wise:
ACC's, sight extension fully in, sight 0.5cm from bottom of sight bar.
ACE's, sight extension mid position, sight 2.5cm from bottom of sight bar.

Get ACE's!

Last year I was holding 39#, shooting Navigators and was able to make 90m with the sight fully extended...

My edgiest recent setup was holding 34#, shooting X10s. I had to bring the sight most of the way in to make 100 yards then.

Going back a bit, I had a setup where I was holding about 30# and shooting aluminium shafts. I had to reverse the sight to make 100 yards, and the arrow behaviour at that distance was a little... unusual. The first time I shot it, it took me ages to get on the target. It turned out that arrows I thought were missing low, were actually missing high, then falling in the grass just behind the boss.
