| Don't be tempted to buy too soon. As you have only just started archery your draw length is going to increase by a least a couple of inches over the coming months and as your shooting style improves and you start to shoot longer distances you are going to need to increase the poundage on your fingers. Buying now could see you having to spend more in a few months on replacement arrows and limbs.Quicks is properly the best shop to visit, Honiton Devon or Waterloville Hampshire are the closest, both have indoor ranges at which you can try out equipment. http://www.quicks.com/index.html See http://www.archery-interchange.com/f...links.php?c=13 for other retailers.

| I shoot an Agulla and can confirm that it is a very nice bow. It balances nicely and the grip is very comfortable; several people have commented on the fact that it feels very light compared to some others. I would agree with LMP though; the paint finish is very good, but chips fairly easily (I had to hunt round Halfords for a touch-up kit which matched my purple one). The only other riser that is as good in the price range is the Winstar - to me it doesn't feel so nice, but the new ones are anodised rather than painted, which is an advantage. But I seem to remember seeing a post a couple of weeks ago which claimed that the latest batch have some sort of issue with the limb pockets being laterally slack? Maybe someone else can throw some light on that... The Agulla is a very nice bow - you can shoot your way to first class with it, no problem.

| Quicks sell the Agulla (complete bow) for £185 or just the riser for £98. They've got shops in the south too, where you can try them out. GOA Dan (a member of the same club as me) shoots an Agulla, and he really rates his. No doubt he'll be along to give his opinions on it soon |

| Paint from the grip?? I didn't have that problem! I liked my agulla and only traded it in as womble found a purple Kudos. Try to shoot different bows, there are a few options within your price range! ![]()

| Most shops can get the Agulla. Centreshot have sold several, as I recall. You should also consider the KAP Striker 1 and 2 risers and the Hoyt GM, and maybe the Hoyt Eclipse and SF risers. |

![]() The same thing happend to me a few months ago. It was time to upgrade from my club kit and move on so i went down to quicks and tried out the agulla. From that point on i cannot live without it as it is a great starter bow it feels just great and is good for the price. I would highly recommend this riser to anyone. I think quicks is a great place to go and try it out, they are really friendly and you can have a practice and see how you like it. |
