Smile draw length

I have noticed recently that my draw has increased from 28" to 30". Is this compatible with a bow length of 66"? Would it be advisable to use longer limbs and/or possibly longer arrows? I welcome general comments and advice . Thanks.

I think I am correct in saying that if your draw length is 30" then you would be best to use a bow length of 70" i.e long limbs on a 25" riser. I am sure the guys/gals will correct me if I am wrong.

66in definately too short. Your on the borderline between a 68 and a 70, 70 would probably be a better fit but your sacrificing cast.

70in is best - smoother at full draw than a comparable 68in set up, with minimal loss of cast (probably about 1fps).

The length of the bow for 30" draw is 68 - 70 by most reckoning. Before you buy anything I would find out why the draw length increased in the first instance.
Know what your correct draw length is, then decide what to do. I've seen archers, with the wrong draw length, who they have been shooting for 20 years. It's easy to get the draw wrong, so it's worth checking.

Would recommend what geoff is saying

I have seen it when a archer that i know started to use a side anchor which increased his draw length.

With his side archor , struggled to keep it consistant and as a result, scores dropped.

I increased my draw length by keeping my shoulder down, so maybe you have done something simlar but worth checking before you part with any cash

and how does one check ones draw length? i go with adjusting the clicker untill it "feels" right and taking the clicker to arrow rest distance away from the arrow length.

With JohnK 100% 70 inch all the way, it will make hardly no speed difference over 68 and will be smoother and better.

It comes down to what suits you. If the increased draw length creates draw finger problems or stacking issues get longer limbs. If not why bother.

Bear in mind there is no such thing as an absolute draw length - it's an archer selected variable. Some archers increase draw length some archers decrease draw length - usually the result of a coach's input.
