hoyt super-pro rest rules...

After many problems with different rests, such as the beiter rest that I could not get any clearance out of and the spigarelli wrap around rest loaned to me that rattled and and moved up and down quite a bit....I have bitten the bullet and adorened my bow with a £1.11 hoyt super pro rest...no movement nothing to go wrong....Rock 'n roll...why did I waste so much money on all the others when a piece of moulded plastic that you adjust with a craft knife blade does the job sooooo well?...DOH!!!

I had the same issue. Got a metal flipper rest for indoors, got increasingly aggitated with it until the point where it broke while I was trying to bend it back into a sensible shape. Went to aardvark, bought said super rest. Noticed no difference whatsoever - with the exception of less shots missing as the arrow falls off the rest.

Great rest, Rick MacKinney used one with good results, 1352 fita etc. You did remember to cut off the plastic bit if you use a button I assume?

They can be a tad difficult to adjust if you switch between carbons and ali arrows. Like anything else on your bow, just keep an eye on it for wear and tear. They do wear out.

Good choice

I've always been fascinated by the Hoyt Super rest. How someting so simple can be so good is quite a revelation.

A question if I may. Is one expected to leave the hook in place or does one trim this for proper arrow clearance? If so, by how much?

Get rid of it altogether. It's there to assist novices in keeping their arrows on the rest,

I used to remove the hook so the rest was just the horizontal piece. Worked fine; had a clicker though?????

Yep I cut the hook of off mine there is just enough to hold the arrow while not be visable from above. the one thing I do love about the super rest is the spigarelli one I had had to be set verticaly, horizontally aand the arm had to be set correctly. With the hoyt rest you just cut some off with a razor blade, if it does not work throw the rest away put another on after all they are £1.11
