I have used monofilament, it gives a very consistent nock fit and a good slick release. But it is very fragile and breaks without warning, when it does, the whole serving becomes loose, looking like spring loosely wrapped around the string. Unlike normal serving material, it is not easy to repair in the field.

I second that emotion ![]() Very stable and gives a nice round shape. Low friction AND doesn't absorb moisture and is less sensitive to a wet tab... good idea in Scotland! But yes, fragile and unwinds FAST when it breaks... no chance to just quicly tie off the end if it comes loose! ![]()

Angel Majesty serving is the best IMHO. I have shot loads of arrows with my current string and the serving is virtually as good as when the string was new.

Yep I've had that stuff unwind during a competition I spotted early and had to finnish with insulation tape wrapped round the string.

Ah! the many wondrous uses of insulating tape.

Never leave home without it.
