Newbie: Sightmark adjustment for new limbs

Hi,

got new pair of limbs for heavier draw. Is there a way to find out how much the sightmarks need to be adjusted other than by trial and error? Looking to save time on hunting the arrows that overshoot the boss.

Thanks.

RE: Newbie: Sightmark adjustment for new limbs

It is time again for new sightmarks. Try shooting a 30 yard and 60 yard distance. Get some graph paper and across the horizontal , divide into 10 yard parts from 0 to 100 yards (you can put in the metres after). On the vertical, divide from 0 to your greatest number on your sight (e.g.125mm). Plot your 30 and 60 yard sight marks, draw a straight line between them and plot off your 20,40,50,80 and 100 yard marks on the straight line. The metre distances are easy e.g.50m is 55 yards and pro rata (20 m equal to 22 yards)

Can't you just shoot close to the target and walk back while adjusting your sight? never miss that way.

Assumes that sight marks are linear. From a compound, they tend to be... from my recurve, they aren't, certainly not past 55 yards. And no, it's not particularly slow - 48# G3s, ACE 470 doing 209 feet per second.
