| RE: looking for a new recurve sight The Shibuya is really in a different league compared to other sights, in quality, design and customer service. Most olympians shoot Shibuya, they really are that good. If you can have a look at some side by side, Shibuya just screams ultra high quality. | |||||||||||||

| RE: looking for a new recurve sight I use an Arten Olympic, and like it a lot. The Olympic has been around since the early Eighties and hasn't changed much. It doesn't really need to -- it's highly adjustable and (usually) reliable. The only time I had problems with it were when my bow was very noisy -- the Olympic could shake apart. I've not had such problems since I got the bracing height right. One thing I don't like is the aperture. I replaced it first with a Spigarelli Square Pin -- very nice indeed -- and more recently with a Titan Recurve -- even nicer. Mine came with absolutely no instructions. Not a good thing, but you can soon figure things out. It can be bought for between £85 and £100. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| RE: looking for a new recurve sight Thanks barry, that confirms what some others at my club were saying about shibuya. I like the click adjustments so I can get some accurate sightmarks. Dave | |||||||||||||||

| RE: looking for a new recurve sight I#had an arten olympic for a while, and it truely can be called a sight, it works. On the other side its ugly and made in the style of victorian cast iron engineering. That extened is a weak point to and is often prone to twisting. For 100 pounds nothing can touch the Shibuya Aluminium Dual Click, it doesn't have a weakpount and has the excellent dual click block. But whatever you decide to buy good luck. | |||||||||||||

| RE: looking for a new recurve sight The Arc sx10 is a good sight for £75, but I do not like it's recticule. I did like the illuminated centre, but tended to concentrate on that rather than the target. I have replaced it with a Gehmann 505 (AMPO Iris) diaphram sight from Surrey Guns. I can only shoot between 20 and 80 yards without adjusting the arm to the second hole to shoot 90m and 100yards, this I find annoying, with the recticule almost touching the vanes as they go by. I am looking at the Shureloc Quest X to replace it, as it has a 5 1/2" frame, an extra 20mm of reach and adjustment. A friend has just bought a CopperJohn, another club member has one and really rates it. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| RE: looking for a new recurve sight The new Copper John Evolution II Fita Sight, looks a treat and has a 6" (150mm) vertical adjustment range.the cage seems a little lightweight, but...an interesting "curved mechanism" tracks the target, remaining perpendicular to the sighting eye. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
