I apologise for my sweeping statement. Last year I was a novice and was shooting tournament FITA and York rounds. If you buy arrows now, and develop a longer draw, and grow out of your limbs, needing more powerful ones, you may find yourself needing new arrows again. I bought my Navigators with that in mind. The limbs I now have are suitable for the arrows. I would still reccomend a small fletch, with Beiter or Easton nocks. Points will depend upon the type of arrow. An interchangeable point is worth considering as it is capable of adjustment.

I don't think there is need for an apology; I was enjoying a refreshing exchange of opinions!
Oh, and for the record IMHO - Navigators, small vanes, Beiter or Easton nocks (Gs or pins) and interchangeable point weight all good at any level of shooting

But you pay for the flexibility, with worse weight consistency. one piece points are more accurately made. On the other hand, you can use a long insert to stiffen up a too weak shaft...

Update from Cestra

Here is an update from Cestra:-

Hi Rich

Went off to Custom Built in Guisborough this morning and spent hour and half there. Pete and his wife were only too willing to pass on loads of useful wisdom. He worked out which way to go with arrow selection and after trying a couple of setups of pile then went on to set the bow to shoot them. By the time I left I was able to get the tightest group I've ever managed to shoot, in fact one of the tightest groups I've ever seen. If I could only do that the club I would be so chuffed I couldn't tell you.

You were so right about the diversity of advice, but I think I can see, that a bit like Microsoft Windows applications, there might only be one goal (gold) but there might be more than one way to achive it. The trick is, get used to one way and then always use that method if the result works. In truth there is no right way or wrong way just the WAY THAT WORKS FOR YOU

I thought I saw a forum to post this as a general statement but could't find it tonight, please use the above if you can.

Thanks again
Ian
