| Why did I choose a mathematical scientist as my shooting parter??!! ![]() *puts glasses on and starts studying* ![]() Acutally, Porly, keep asking these fascinating questions because I get the benefit of your brain. I'll let my natural talent do the rest! ![]()

| As you will be looking mostly at the sight ring I would suggest that you pick a point on that to line up your string on. I use the right hand side of the sight ring where the screw thread meets the ring. The string will appear large and out of focus so I try to make the left hand side of the string just touch the right hand side of the ring. |

| PorlyP. It doesn't particularly matter where you put your string, as long as it's consistent. I used to shoot string-sight-bow... but now I have sight-string-bow, with my string aligned with my riser. Just find somewhere comfortable that you can do consistently and keep it that way ![]() Claire |

| Cool, thanks, although I'm comfy and somewhat consistant (at 20 yards I can't really tell just yet how consistent I am!), I guess I'll be down into a position once the distances grow. Everyone's so helpful on here, wish life in general was like this! ![]()

| If you line the string up on the sight then moving the sight left and right has a different effect than if you line up the string on the riser as effectively you are moving the back sight as well. Both have worked well for archers far better than me, but I use the riser as the left-right sight movements I have to make then seem a bit more predictable. |

| moomop: thanks, it makes more sense to use the riser, as that won't move at all, so I'll probably give that a go. ![]()

| I prefer using the right hand edge of the sight. 1) A small adjust on the sight is doubled (?) due to the string moving aswell. 2) The riser (sight window) is just too far for my comfort. My eyes object to loosing focus from the gold to check alignment. |
